The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) team is seeking an Experienced Thermal Analysis Analyst   located in Kennedy Space Center, FL or New Orleans, LA. The selected candidate will be responsible for creating or modifying thermal math models, running analytical cases to determine environments or temperatures of various components or structure of the SLS upper stage vehicle, and collaborating with other teams (e.g. Propulsion, Stress, etc.) to ensure requirements are satisfied and issues are resolved.

Position Responsibilities Include:

  • Perform thermal analysis using the Thermal Desktop modeling software along with associated software tools to build thermal models and assess analysis results.

  • Supports the development and documentation of mechanical and fluid system and thermal environment requirements to establish the system design.

  • Supports the development, maintenance or modification of system, component and installation designs/proposals to provide design documentation to downstream groups.

  • Performs and documents analyses to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.

  • Work with other Integrated Product Team (IPT) to coordinate design iterations and development.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.

  • 1+ years of experience in thermal design and analysis.

  • 1+ years of experience utilizing thermal modeling software (e.g. Thermal Desktop, IDEAS/TMG, MuSES, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 1+ years of experience with one or more of the following within the Manufacturing Operations function (Shop Floor Manufacturing Operations, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Supply Chain Management).

  • 1+ years of experience in thermal design and modeling of aerospace platforms.

  • 1+ years of experience in NASA Space programs or a related Space or Defense program.

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. Note: Basic relocation is available for internal candidates based on candidate eligibility.
