The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) team is seeking an Associate Test and Evaluation Engineer to join the Shock and Vibration Lab located in Ogden, UT.  The ideal candidate will have the ability to multi-task in a dynamic team environment and develop solutions to a wide range of complex technical problems. Must have great communication skills to work with and report to the customer.

Position Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop and document simple test methods and processes to ensure repeatability and productivity
  • Development of simple test procedures
  • Design component and sub-assembly level hardware or software and uses analytical tools to verify the design
  • Assist in coordinating the manufacture and assembly of test hardware
  • Identify solutions to basic problems and supports the development of metrology processes, methods and tools
  • Support the development of test debrief material
  • Participate in the evaluation of test performance data
  • Review test data for accuracy, quality and/or fidelity prior to delivery to customer
  • Alert senior engineers of off nominal data
  • Prepare test reports for review
  • Work under general supervision
  • Perform tests in accordance with approved test plan/procedure and applicable policies
  • Initiate trouble shooting and addresses anomalies
  • Develop Statements of Work (SOW) and technical requirements documents for new equipment
  • Document and initiate change on lessons learned and performance metrics to improve future testing and makes recommendations to improve processes

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.  An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
  • 1+ years of experience in test procedure development, test execution, and test reporting
  • 1+ years of experience in the operation, integration, installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of automatic test equipment

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience with data acquisition systems and software (e.g. LabView)
  • Experience or a basic understanding of Shock and Vibration testing principles

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard
