The Boeing Company is looking for a Senior Software Quality Engineer - Boeing Global Services to join our team in Hazelwood, MO. In this role, you’ll be ensuring we deliver safe and compliant products to our customers. As a member of the team you will work with our commercial and military programs to assure the right processes for developing, controlling, and verifying software are followed – by Boeing or provided by suppliers. Background in software development practices, tools, and processes is required to be successful. Knowledge of Software Quality Engineering, CMMI, and quality standards (e.g. AS9115) is required. Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills, are crucial for success.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Actively participate in program activities, from initial proposal through planning, verification, certification and delivery

  • Act as an independent set of eyes and ears for Program Managers and the customer, highlighting potential best practices on the team, as well as areas for improvement

  • Coordinates support across SQEs supporting a program to ensure SQE commitments are met

  • Verifies software lifecycle activities and products comply with approved software processes, plans, and standards

  • Identifies process or product non-compliances; supports root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions and other defect investigation/prevention activities

  • Teams with equipment managers of supplier products to evaluate supplier software development performance

  • Identify and analyze program/project software quality metrics to improve software quality and manage risks

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

  • 3+ years of experience do you have with SDLC (Software/Systems Development Lifecycle)

  • Experience with high level programming languages such a C++, C, Java

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 1+ years of experience do you have with software testing at different levels, including component, configuration item, subsystem, integration/system, and acceptance testing

  • Experience developing software in multiple languages and on multiple platforms

  • 1+ years of audit experience

  • Experience working on an Agile team using Agile methodologies

Typical Education/Experience: 

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard
