The Boeing Company has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Industrial Engineer (IE) to join our growing Tooling and Equipment Estimating team located in Everett, WA.

 

This IE position will be part of the BCA Tooling Production Asset Core team and focus on program tool & equipment estimation for the value stream, estimating standardization and special projects. The Tooling Production Asset Core team is a diverse and multiskilled team that focuses on standard Tooling & Equipment IE processes, Value Stream metrics, workflow visibility, One BPS and Tool & Equipment Estimating efforts BCA wide.

This position allows for a hybrid work environment of virtual and onsite. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.

 

Position Responsibilities:

·       Expected to work with a cross functional team across Puget Sound to develop positive relationships with the team and to engage in the work being performed to target improvement opportunities that will reduce cost and improve schedule and first-time quality. 

·       Applies industrial engineering concepts, approaches and techniques to product, process and services to meet program requirements.

·       Establish Value Stream Tooling Estimates for Design, Fabrication and Tool Construction.

Establish Value Stream Equipment Estimates for Design, Fabrication, and rework

·       Establish Estimating Time Standards from planning observations within factory to perform time studies of different fabrication operations in order to build.

 

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee

Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):

·       Bachelor's or Master's from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

·       3+ years of experience in Industrial Engineering

·       3+ years of experience with continuous improvement

·       3+ years of experience in data analytics

·       Experience working in a manufacturing environment

Demonstrated ability to read engineering drawings.

Experience in breaking down and identifying tasks involved in fabricating contract tools. (Machining, drilling, facing, grinding, milling, welding, etc.)

Basic understanding of metallurgic properties of hardness, heat treat, annealing, bending, and strength

Basic understanding of additive manufacturing and associated post processes

 

Preferred Qualifications:

·       Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Industrial Engineering or Systems Engineering

·       Experience with applying LEAN manufacturing, root cause analysis, structured problem solving and improvement projects

·       Proficient in developing project schedules and resource analysis

·       Strong analytical skills
