Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for an IT Program Manager to join our Experimental Systems Group (ESG) to support development of new first-of-kind space vehicles and missions. The position can be located in Seal Beach, CA; El Segundo, CA; or Kennedy Space Center, FL.

ESG supports a variety of government customers spanning technology domains, and is an extremely fast-paced, responsive development environment delivering new capabilities to customers rapidly and affordably. The ESG portfolio consists of a range of platforms and technologies including the X-37B, the world’s first fully autonomous reusable space-plane.

The IT Program Manager provides leadership for the development and implementation of IT networks for use on Boeing proprietary programs. This key position is responsible for the cost, schedule, and technical performance of a highly visible and important program.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Leads development of the program architecture and top-level plans.

  • Develops program organizational, work structures, top level program and execution plans.

  • Identifies key program level horizontal and vertical integration interfaces between major activities, teams, suppliers, partners and customers.

  • Facilitates the resolution of program issues.

  • Supports the program manager in leading daily program execution.

  • Integrates the implementation of the Program Management Best Practices.

  • Implements customer and program communication and contact plans.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher

  • 3+ years of experience in project management

  • Experience with leading enterprise-wide IT products in Product Management, Project Management, Development and/or Architecture role


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelors of Science (or greater) from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry, or other technical degree

  • 1+ years of management experience with Systems Engineering or Product Teams involving the ability to plan, design, develop and verify technical solutions

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience, 18 years' related work experience, etc.).

Relocation:

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Travel:

Position may require travel up to 25% of the time.
