Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking a First Line Product & Service Quality Manager to join the 777 Quality team in Everett, WA.

The Quality Manager will oversee inspection activities, production control, process improvement, and Lean/BPS. In this role, there will be regular interaction with the cross-functional production support team, Operations, senior leadership, and regulatory agencies. This position requires strong leadership and people skills, the ability to problem solve and be proactive to identify issues, and to develop and communicate corrective action plans that drive defect elimination and first pass quality.

This leader will be a reliable and proficient professional who possesses the ability to work well with diverse groups and collaborate across organizational boundaries. They can successfully implement solutions in an ever-evolving environment by relying on problem-solving, data, and analysis to drive decisions. Transformational leadership skills are necessary to build team engagement and lead quality team members in implementing key initiatives including One Boeing Production System, Defect Reduction, and Lean Manufacturing. The ideal candidate will exhibit resilience and tenacity in implementing improvements in an established and regulated production and quality system.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Position Responsibilities

  • Manages, develops and motivates employees who evaluate and ensure that products, services and processes comply with customer contract requirements, engineering requirements, company procedures and government regulations.

  • Develops and executes business plans, policies and procedures and develops organizational and technical strategies to improve performance.

  • Provides education and coaching on the Quality System.

  • May make airworthiness determinations on behalf of the company and regulatory agencies.

  • Acquires and manages resources and leads process improvements.

  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, suppliers and direct reports.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

  • 1+ years of experience leading a team formal or informally.

  • 3 + years of experience in Quality Management System (QMS)

  • 3 + years of experience working within a manufacturing production environment.

  • Ability to work any shift based on the needs of the operation.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).

  • Experience working with AS9100 and/or similar QMS standard.

  • Experience leading teams including cross-functional teams.

  • Experience in root cause analysis/systematic problem solving.
