The Boeing Company is currently seeking Senior Software Engineers to continue a career with a team where Software really matters in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Training/Ground Systems is responsible for the design, manufacture, development, and maintenance of a wide variety of commercial and military training devices. The applicant would be team lead supporting the E-3 AWACS and E-7 Ground System platform.

Software is an integral part of each of these products and these products are integral parts of the defense of multiple nations. If you come to work with us you will be responsible for full life-cycle software development which means you will have a hand in defining the requirements; designing, implementing and testing the software; and supporting these products through delivery and in the field.

The selected applicant will be member of a high performing, collaborative team and must be self-motivated with a strong work ethic, excellent time-management, and interpersonal skills. These teams use Agile methodologies to support all aspects of product development, including project management. The applicant will be encouraged to actively help the team to continuously improve and develop innovative and creative solutions to products and processes. The selected applicant will be involved in maintaining our Legacy applicant and working proposals for the next generation product.

Responsibilities include:

  • Software is an integral part of each of these products and these products are integral parts of the defense of multiple nations.
  • If you come to work with us you will be responsible for leading full life-cycle software development which means you will have a hand in defining the requirements; designing, implementing and testing the software; and supporting these products through delivery and in the field.
  • The applicant will be trained in Scaled Agile as a Product Owner and will move into the Product Owner position for the team.
  • The applicant will mentor the team to continuously improve and develop innovative and creative solutions to products and processes.

Security Clearance:

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience developing software utilizing a diverse set of technologies
  • Software development experience in C#
  • Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
  • 3+ years of experience developing, documenting and maintaining architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems
  • 1+ years of experience as an Agile software development team lead
  • 1+ years of experience implementing software using C/C++
  • 1+ years of development experience using Java

Desired Experience, Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience with software configuration management tools such as ClearCase/ClearQuest or Jira
  • EVM trained / CAM Certified
  • Experience acting in agile (SCRUM) leadership roles of Product Owner and/or Scrum Master

Typical Education and Experience:

Education typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard

Travel:

Occasional travel may be required (up to 10%).

Relocation

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. (Oklahoma City, OK).
