The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Phantom Works is seeking Experienced Ramjet 155 Systems Engineer, in St. Charles, Missouri.  Position supports Systems Engineering tasks in the development of a Science & Technology projectile. Responsibilities will include Risk Management, Configuration Control Management, Model Based Systems Engineering development and maintenance and Army customer systems engineering collaboration. Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify a lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions. BDS Phantom Works is developing an advance projectile that will be fired from an Army canon as part of a XM1155 Science and Technology program. There is an opportunity for a Systems Engineer to join the Ramjet 155 SEIT IPT.

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Responsibilities will include Risk Management, Configuration Control Management, Model Based Systems Engineering development and maintenance and Army customer systems engineering collaboration.

  • Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify a lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions.

  • Evaluates customer and /operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces.

  • Performs various analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture.

  • Performs analyses for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success.

  • Develops the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes.

  • Resolves cross-functional technical issues.

This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at the listed location.

This position requires the ability to obtain U.S. Security Secret Clearance, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. secret clearance Post Start is required.


Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience): 

  • Practicing knowledge of System Engineering standards,

  • Be able to collaboratively work with multiple program Integrated Product Teams (IPT) as well as customer’s SEIT IPT.

  • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):

  • Experience with Genesys or CAMEO,

  • BORIS – Boeing’s risk management tool.

  • Planning and budgeting, fundamental understanding of EVM practices.

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
