Boeing Defense, Space, and Security (BDS) Cruise Missile Systems in St. Charles, MO, is seeking a motivated Associate Loads and Dynamics Engineer for the SLAM ER Missile Obsolescence Redesign Program.  The Cruise Missiles organization is a strong and growing business that produces long-range precision guided weapons which are employed around the world to support the defense of the United States and partner countries.  This is an exciting and rare opportunity to work on the world’s most advanced variant of the combat-proven SLAM ER missile system.  The SLAM ER missile redesign is being managed as a development program and will be implemented as a new SLAM ER weapon system configuration to replace obsolete or uneconomical parts and subsystems to support production and improve future sustainment.  The job assignment for a Loads and Dynamics Engineer is to generate structural loads and perform dynamic analysis for missile structural components and document analysis results.  A working knowledge of classical and Boeing analysis methodologies will be beneficial, as the candidate will be required to create analysis models, perform hand calculations and have an understanding of analysis best practices to provide inputs and recommendations for new designs and installations.  A loads and dynamics engineer works as part of an Integrated Product Team (IPT) and must have the ability to effectively communicate and work under general supervision provided by senior lead engineers and management.

Position Responsibilities Include:

  • Perform analysis using well defined tools to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance

  • Support component vibe, shock, acoustic, and acceleration testing and analyze/report test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications

  • Create loads and dynamics reports

  • Collaborate with engineers in other disciplines (structural design, loads/dynamics, mass properties, materials & properties, thermal analysis, aerodynamics, etc.)

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
