Boeing St. Louis is building the future ? creating innovative solutions that will define the next generation of aerospace. We are currently seeking associate structural design engineers (P2) to develop, maintain and modify structural and interior payload system and component designs, using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools and/or other design methods, to provide product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers and external customers throughout the product lifecycle.

These positions are located in the St. Louis region and support current and emerging aircraft and weapons programs across the Bombers and Fighters, Phantom Works, Autonomous Systems, Missiles and Weapons, and Boeing Global Services businesses.

Position Responsibilities

• Assists to develop, integrate and document structural and interior payload system requirements to establish the system design.

• Develops, maintains and modifies basic structural and interior payload system and component designs, using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools and/or other design methods, to provide product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers and external customers throughout the product lifecycle.

• Performs tests to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.

• Assists with supplier development, test and production activities and coordination with the supplier to optimize the design and achieve program goals.

• Supports investigation of emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements.

• Works under general supervision.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

• 2+ years relevant structures engineering experience - NOTE: A relevant post graduate degree (MS/PhD in Aerospace, Mechanical or Civil engineering) can substitute for relevant work experience

• Experience using industry CAD system (e.g. PRO-E, SOLIDWORKS, AUTOCAD) and MS Office

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using NX / Teamcenter or CATIA / ENOVIA and familiarity with reading 2-D drawings

• Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Person status.  An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start may be required.

Typical Education/Experience

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
