The Boeing Company is looking for an Associate Instrumentation Technician with knowledge in transducers, PCB board, control system, and data acquisition systems to support Lab test in Seattle, WA. This role will support testing in the Structures Lab. Boeing Test & Evaluation is constantly finding faster and more innovative and affordable ways to ensure Boeing products meet the highest levels of quality, reliability and safety. At B&TE, we innovate, design, test and validate a large variety of commercial and military products. Our team is focused on safely providing the highest value instrumentation solutions to address challenges that we face during testing. Our team instruments full scale airplane systems with various sensors and uses advanced control and data acquisition systems to conduct structural ground testing and acquire data for analysis.

This position is for 1st shift; however, various shifts, nights, weekends, and alternate shifts may be required to support program objectives.

Position Responsibilities:          

  • Supports activities to plan, conduct and document tests on products, systems, components, materials, and manufacturing processes and technologies

  • Designs systems, materials, components, software and methodologies to meet customer requirements

  • Participates in test design and performs routine procurement, fabrication and assembly of components, test fixtures and test systems

  • Supports the coordination of test requirements and assists in reviewing test methods and capabilities

  • Facilitates systems integration, fabrication and modification; supports system pre-test setup, integration, checkout, and post test tear-down

  • Conducts routine tests, analyzes data and documents results

  • Troubleshoots and recommends resolution of basic laboratory and test-related problems

  • Works under general supervision

  • Works with a variety of sensors such as strain gages,  load cells, pressure transducers and thermocouples

  • Reads technical drawings

  • Operates control and data systems

  • Collects and analyzes data

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 1+ years of experience collecting data from multiple sources, performing analysis and presenting data

  • 1+ years of experience in supporting manufacturing or test operations

  • 1+ years of experience with reading and interpreting technical documents and/or drawings

  • 1+ years of experience working with Digital Volt Meters (DVM), Oscilloscopes, AC/DC Power supplies, Frequency Generators, and/or Power Meters

  •  Experience using Microsoft Office products such as Outlook, Power Point, Excel, and Word

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience with reading technical drawings or schematics and PCB board creation

  • Experience with PID controller

  • Experience with Visio

  • Experience in Instrumentation

  • Experience with sensors: strain gages, load cells, and thermocouple

  • Experience with data acquisition systems, control systems and components

Typical Education/Experience: 

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 1 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor, 3 years' related work experience, etc.).

Relocation:
