Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking Experienced Systems Engineers to support the BCA Systems and Safety Integration team in Everett, WA! Our goal is to build development assurance and systems engineering into our governing engineering processes, best design practices, training and control across the portfolio of BCA products.

As part of this team you will apply systems thinking with an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to develop innovative solutions to highly integrated complex technical issues. Position Responsibilities:

  • Work across products, platforms and functional areas to apply systems solutions to develop and/or update Systems Engineering processes documentation to enhance systems engineering and software quality.

  • Collaborate with inter-disciplinary teams to resolve development, validation, verification and certification issues within the commercial aircraft systems.

  • Provide systems engineering support to product development and airplane programs across BCA, including supporting development of tactical development assurance deliverables and artifacts.

  • Support BCA Model Based Engineering (MBE) & Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) implementation initiatives.

  • Assess, identify and develop improvements for the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools and technology readiness assessment processes.


This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
 

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee. 
 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience)

  • Bachelors of Science (or greater) from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry, or other technical degree

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and collaborating on multi-discipline teams

  • 5+ years of engineering related experience

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills / Experience):

  • Previous systems integration experience

  • Systems and development program experience

  • Flexibility, adaptability and comfortable with a dynamic work statement

  • Agile or modified agile working environment

  • Candidate should be self-starter, adept at leading projects and influencing people across multiple organizations

  • Working knowledge of Boeing’s Airplane development methodology.

  • Familiarity with high assurance and high availability architectures and implementation

  • Experience with Development Assurance principles (ARP-4754A and/or DO-178)

  • Fosters a healthy, creative and productive team environment

Typical Education:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
