Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is having an outstanding opportunity for an Experienced Dreamlifter Operations Support Specialist to support the Dreamlifter Large Cargo Freighter (LCF) in North Charleston, SC.

Primary focus is to support the activities related to cargo operations that include four modified 747-400 aircraft, five Dreamlifter Operations sites, multiple partner supplier relationships, and multiple logistic suppliers.  Prospective candidate must provide dedicated support for coordinating Main Deck and Lower Lobe cargo movement within the Dreamlifter flight network.  Daily operations include the creation and management of various documents that support the movement of cargo, including customs paperwork, trucking requests, along with coordination with Boeing Production.  All of this is accomplished within the 787 Production Master Schedule.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Provide interface and liaison coordination between all BCA, BDS and BGS programs in support of Dreamlifter cargo opportunities.

  • Conduct meetings to provide direct interface and coordination between Boeing Commercial Air Programs, suppliers, cargo team members, Dreamlifter Operations, and the LCF Operator.

  • Day to day operations management including after hours and weekend on call support coordinating operational and scheduling information with customers.

  • Perform evaluations of new cargo requests to be shipped on the LCF, including business case.

  • Understand and ensure compliance to complex regulatory documents that govern Dreamlifter Large Cargo Freighter operations.

  • Support Lower Lobe operational stability, standardization of processes and documentation.

  • Coordinate system deployment and provide technical assistance to resolve customer logistics systems operational concerns.

  • Create and deliver presentations for an audience that includes Boeing Leaders, external suppliers and partners.

  • Provide reports and data to support recurring operations which contributes to the overall safety and efficiency improvements of the Dreamlifter Transportation System.

  • Create, write, and edit documents such as operational, process and technical manuals, statements of work and work instructions which support the Dreamlifter Organization.

  • Integrate logistics information tools to support existing or new product lines.

  • Collaborate with Procurement to implement project plans, provide input to make/buy decisions and work to meet schedule, cost and quality targets.

  • Integrate work statement, work scope and work transfer packages with internal and external customers to requirements.

  • Identify, analyze and support logistics information system requirements.

  • Assessment of impact of logistics system architectural decisions to product lifecycle.

  • Work special projects that reduce cost and promote increased utilization of the Dreamlifter Transportation System.

  • Implement Lean+ into the daily schedule integration processes.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at North Charleston, NC.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of experience with Microsoft Office Products such as Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.

  • 3+ years of experience with logistics management in air cargo, airline operations, warehousing

  • 3+ years of experience in Supply Chain Operations

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 20%

 Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):

  • Demonstrable analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Experience working in supplier management

  • Bachelor’s Degree

Typical Education/Experience: 

Typically, 6 or more years' related work experience or relevant military experience. Advanced degree (e.g. Bachelor, Master, etc.) preferred, but not required.
