Job Description

Boeing is looking for a First-Line Manufacturing Manager to support the support the Composite Manufacturing Center (CMC) Team on 2nd shift, based out of Puyallup, WA.  

In this role you will be responsible for the assembly of 777/777x HSTAB and VFIN assemblies. A successful candidate must be able to develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and team members.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at in Puyallup, WA.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Maintains a productive sense of urgency & utilizes the One Boeing Production System to ensure that team meets people, safety, quality, delivery, cost & innovation performance expectations.
  • Builds a positive and inclusive teaming environment while managing employees and first-level managers.
  • Utilizes established problem-solving methods to address gaps between goals and required outcomes.
  • Responsible for inspiring leadership, cultural stewardship, fostering employee engagement and involvement.
  • Manages union represented mechanics performing activities across multiple manufacturing disciplines.
  • Focuses team on compliance and accountability
  • Develops and executes integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures and provides input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals and objectives.
  • Acquires resources for department activities, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Ability to work any shift assigned, including overtime and weekends.
  • 3+ years of experience leading teams in a formal or informal role
  • 3+ years of experience working in an aerospace, fabrication, or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience using the One Boeing Production System (BPS) or use of Lean tools and principles.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience in a team environment.
  • Knowledge about composite manufacturing process and procedures
  • Experience interfacing with senior and executive leadership.
