The Boeing Company is currently seeking an experienced Engineering System Management Engineer to contribute to a team of engineers that develop custom electronics for use in avionics integration and testing laboratories. The Core Development Team is located in Saint Louis, MO. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Participate in a small scrum team focused the complex execution of engineering system management across multiple concurrent programs with competing priorities, using the SAFe Agile Framework and JIRA.

  • Develop, manage, and support engineering specific computing hardware and software architectures in complex engineering avionics development and testing environments across multiple security classification and export control levels.

  • Support the design, development, test, documentation, delivery, installation, training, and sustainment of organic avionics system software development and integration testing centers.

  • Work directly with current F-15 to support ongoing sustainment and modernization of their organic avionics software development capability, aligned to current and future campaign objectives.

  • Develop, execute, and maintain systems management procedures and processes compliant with DoD standards for Risk Management Framework (RMF) security, ITAR Export control, and classification.

  • Develop and deliver extended periods of engineering systems management classroom training to international civilian and military customers in a language and culturally constrained environment.

  • Leverage and manage the interactions with supporting organizations such as Procurement, Dell IT, and Enterprise Government Cybersecurity, with the intent of balancing competing priorities and organizational influences.

  • Manage the specification and procurement of engineering specific computing hardware and software assets using Boeing Procurement systems and processes.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Export Control:

This position requires an active Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):

  • Currently possess a Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

  • Experience in engineering

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering

  • Security+ certification

  • Ability to travel to support domestic and international onsite installation and support of customer organic avionics system software development centers.

  • Ability to be “on call” and work alternate shifts, if required, to support a multi-shift lab environment.

Typical Education:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
