Boeing Defense Space and Security (BDS) is seeking an Entry Level Configuration Management and Product Integration Engineer to support our team based in New Orleans, LA.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Gathers data to support the analysis and verification of process and product baselines.
  • Collects data for product and subsystem level technical design reviews and audits for new and derivative products.
  • Processes product changes and assists with the documentation and implementation of engineering technical program plans of limited scope and complexity.
  • Gathers data to assist in the analysis of product trades/changes for change proposals.
  • Assists with the documentation of Configuration and Data Management standards, processes and tools.
  • Gathers customer input data for Configuration and Data Management requirements for product hardware, software, and engineering design data systems.
  • Gathers data to assist in the resolution of issues with engineering product structure.
  • Works under close supervision
  • Assists with as design / as built reconciliation / Configuration Status Accounting
  • Functional Configuration Audits / Physical Configuration Audit

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience): Please add additional as needed

  • Bachelor degree or higher (engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry)
  • 1+ years' experience with the development, analysis, management, and compliance verification of process and product baselines of complex products
  • 1+ years' experience using or applying metrics to measure performance against projects or processes to ensure effective, high quality execution
  • 1+ years' experience with the coordination and execution of a Configuration Control Board

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills / Experience): Please add at least 1

  • Experience working in a cross functional environment
  • 3+ years' experience interfacing directly with all of the following: suppliers, external customers, and program management
  • 3+ years' experience working with NASA customer
  • Experience with SDRL loading, forecasting, and tracking in CSDT
  • Experience with Risk, Issue, and Opportunity Management in BORIS
  • Experience with tools such as Windchill, Mantis, MESci, IBI Cognos
  • Experience with Hardware audits and configuration status accounting

Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
