Boeing Commercial Airplanes is seeking an Associate Reliability & Analytics Engineer (Systems Engineering) located in Seal Beach, California to provide Reliability Analysis support to Boeing's in-service commercial airplane fleet including producing standard reliability reports, supporting customer meetings with reliability data, and performing deep dive reliability studies on issues impacting the fleet.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Performs reliability analyses including; reliability requirements/performance parameters, mean time between failure, predictions, allocations, etc.

  • Provides reliability, maintainability and system health trends of product performance

  • Analyzes system, subsystem or Line Replaceable Unit (LRU) failures.

  • Assists in fault prediction/detection/isolation analysis, probabilistic risk assessment.

  • Working knowledge of statistical analysis concepts such as normal distribution, standard deviations, mean, probability, and confidence levels.

  • Regularly monitors, interprets, and integrates complex technical data, quickly and efficiently, from a wide variety of sources.

  • Applies analytical skills to a diverse set of structured and unstructured data located in multiple databases.

  • Performs large volume data reduction using spreadsheets, databases, and other tools.

  • Analyzes data to detect trends, associations, and cause-effect relationships, and develop viable action-oriented recommendations.

  • Applies knowledge of aircraft system design & integration, operational procedures, and hazard identification.

  • Excels at working independently and collaboratively, in an investigative role, where detailed processes and procedures are not always specified.

  • The ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with an exceptionally positive and solution oriented can-do attitude

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent
 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in an Engineering related field.

  • 1+ years of experience with Reliability, Maintainability and System Health analysis and predictions.

  • 1+ years of experience performing data analysis

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Master of Science degree or higher from an accredited course of study in an engineering discipline, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.

  • Experienced in performing data exploration and analysis through programming and/or tools (SQL, R, Python, Tableau, etc.)

  • Experienced in performing statistical analysis

  • Experienced in performing Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analyses (FMECA).

  • Good organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to adjust priorities to multiple demands and unanticipated events

  • Highly motivated and must work well in a team environment

  • The ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing

Education/ Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
