The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) team is seeking an Associate Software Engineer to join our team in Heath, OH.   Build the future as a software engineer at the Boeing Guidance Repair Center in Heath, Ohio – the company’s center of excellence for maintenance, repair and overhaul of navigation and guidance systems. The site’s outstanding stability and inertial calibration capabilities enable Boeing to maintain the readiness and accuracy of guidance and navigation systems for U.S. nuclear-capable platforms with unparalleled quality and precision. The Test Equipment Engineering team maintains, modifies, and updates the specialized test equipment required to support the various items for these programs.

Position Responsibilities:

  • ICBM related test and evaluation support

  • ICBM related test data reduction and analyses

  • Guidance repair for Air Force and Navy

  • Electronic measure for Navy and submarines

  • Test software for different mechanisms

  • Use specialized test equipment to do modification and updates

  • Support the whole site; software upgrades and updates, etc.

  • Assist in writing new software code or modify code mainly on the ICBM program

This position allows telecommuting. (Hybrid) The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. (Heath, Ohio)

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science or mechanical/electrical engineering.

  • At least 1 year of programming experience

Preferred Qualification (Desired Skills / Experience):

  • Knowledge of selected programming languages (e.g. LabVIEW, C, Fortran, C++)

  • Broad experience incorporating modifications to legacy test equipment systems that have limited documentation.

  • Experience with Model Based Systems/Software Engineering highly preferred

  • Extensive experience in software development, documentation creation/release and project management.

  • Experience with LabVIEW RealTime development architecture.

  • Experience with LabVIEW FPGA development and a thorough understanding of FPGA architectures.

Typical Education / Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master).

In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Relocation:
