The Boeing Company seeks an Integration & Test Lab Tech lead for Mission Systems Payloads development in Huntington Beach, CA. This position supports a rapidly growing team of managers, engineers and staff within the Payload Products & Technologies (PP&T) organization under Boeing Research & Technology’s (BR&T) Mission Systems & Autonomy (MS&A) capability. This role oversees activities to design, fabricate, build and analyze test systems, materials, components, software and methodologies.  Responsible for receiving, setup, integration, configuration, verification and maintenance of Special Test Equipment (STE), Hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) and Payload-in-the-loop (PIL) development and test environments.  These may be COTS or mission-specific configurations based upon System Engineering specifications related to organization requirements.  This position will join the leadership team of a dynamic organization with multiple high-performing teams. Boeing Research & Technology is Boeing’s advanced, centralized Research & Development organization. The Mission Systems & Autonomy team drives integrated technology development and rapidly transitions capabilities in areas such as artificial intelligence, autonomy, cyber security, advanced electronics, communications, networking, platform subsystems and digital aviation.  If you have a passion to work with teams that are developing the next generation of technology and innovation, this may be the role for you.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Oversees planning, execution and documentation of tests on products, systems, components, materials, and manufacturing processes and technologies. Provides consultation on test requirements, test methods and capabilities. Provides consultation on complex laboratory and test-related problems. Coordinates test laboratory asset management. Provides Boeing leadership to government agencies, safety and hazardous materials teams in the event of emergencies. Mentors others. Works under consultative direction. Oversees system test preparations by guiding system integration, fabrication, modification, setup, checkout and teardown.
  • Demonstrated skills in verbal and written communications for numerous audiences.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Minimum of High School Diploma or GED.
  • 3+ years of experience configuration and/or operating non-automated Stand-alone test equipment.
  • 3+ years of experience with electronic measurement and test equipment.
  • 2+ years of experience troubleshooting fault isolate complex electronics systems.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience in product development and/or product design verification and testing
  • 5+ years of experience with executing and updating written or electronic test procedures
  • 5+ years of experience with design and implementation of hardware environments for software and/or firmware testing  

Typical Education/Experience:  Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor+7 years' related work experience, 11 years' related work experience, etc.).
