We are seeking a Mid-Level Transportation Analyst (Level 3) to join our Transportation, Warehousing, and Logistics (TWL) team located in Renton, Kent or Des Moines, Washington. You will be responsible for Dangerous Goods pre-transportation functions, as requested by Boeing BCA Programs. This position also involves designing cost-effective outbound transportation plans and solutions, supporting the enterprise across multiple business units and programs.

This role may entail assisting with and performing International freight transactions in accordance with Federal and Regulatory Agency guidelines, supporting Seattle, Washington as needed.

You will need to travel up to 25% domestically to support our nearby sites.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Uses judgement and experience to determine appropriate markings and labels for packages; preparing shipping papers; determine UN Number, Proper Shipping Name, Hazard Class, and Packaging Group; providing DG packaging plan

  • Reviews shipments to verify compliance with the HazMat Regulations

  • Signs and saves a copy of the DG Declaration- Service Provider

  • Arranges transportation for surface and air; provides support for the development of the statement of work to secure cost-effective transportation services

  • Analyzes carrier performance data for cycle time and cost Interfaces with internal/external compliance organizations and responds to Customs and Border Protection inquiries for export control issues to ensure compliance with export regulations, federal regulations, Foreign Trade Regulations and the Boeing Compliance Offices

  • Plans & certifies the shipment of dangerous goods; investigates loss and damage claims to carriers

  • Designs transportation plans and solutions; provides program managers with the development of transportation plans

  • Identifies requirements and business rules for third party freight audit and payment provider to ensure compliance

  • Assists with interpreting and applying logistics policies, processes and methodologies to support business initiatives

  • May assist with and perform International freight transactions in accordance with Federal and Regulatory Agency guidelines

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee. 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of experience working in domestic and international supply chain logistics

  • 1+ year of experience processing dangerous good shipments for both surface and air

  • Experience working with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

  • Experience using professional written and verbal communication skills to achieve deliverables

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree and/or military experience

  • International shipping experience with AES (ExDocs)

  • 3+ years of experience with documentation and certification requirements of dangerous goods in transportation in support to compliance initiatives

  • Knowledge of ITAR Technical Data Regulations, Export Licenses (DOC, OFAC, DSP-5, TAA & MLA)

  • 3+ years of experience with freight forwarding and/or transportation modes: FTL, LTL,  International & Domestic Air Freight, Ocean, Small Parcel

  • 5+ years of experience supporting end users in a customer service role (resolving problems and providing a high level of service)

  • 5+ years of experience with multi-tasking and working in a team environment

Typical Education & Experience:

Typically 6 or more years' related work experience or relevant military experience. Advanced degree (e.g. Bachelor, Master, etc.) preferred, but not required. 

Relocation:
