The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS), has an immediate need for Experienced Electrical Engineer (Level 3), in Hazelwood, MO. Boeing St. Louis MQ-25 Electrical Subsystems Development team has an immediate need for Electrical System designers seeking advanced and challenging work. Candidates will participate in requirement development (e.g. Interface Control Documents (ICD), Source Control Documents (SCD).) for aircraft electrical systems on Boeing Military Aircraft. The candidate will work with suppliers on electrical power generation and distribution systems and exterior lighting. This position is based in St Louis MO and limited travel will be required.

This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at the listed location.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Works with customers to develop and document complex electronic and electrical system requirements.

  • Analyzes and translates requirements into system, hardware and software designs and interface specifications.

  • Tests and validates to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements.

  • Monitors supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements.

  • Solves problems concerning and provides other support of fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle.

  • Researches specific technology advances for potential application to company business needs.

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Secret Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. secret clearance Post Start is required. 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):

  • Bachelor's of Science degree or higher from an accredited course of study in an engineering discipline, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.

  • The ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 6 or more years of experience with design engineering.

  • Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering degree.

  • Experience within Electrical Subsystems design with familiarity of engineering processes and methods.

  • Clear understanding and expertise in Electrical lighting system and/or Electrical Power Generating and Distribution systems.

  • Experience working with cross functional teams.

  • Must be willing to travel.

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
