Boeing Global Services is currently seeking highly motivated Associate Level Software Engineer to become part of the Training Systems - Battlespace Simulation Management team in Berkeley, Missouri. The Combat Environment Simulation (CES) team is looking for an Associate level Software Engineers to be part of a dynamic team that models the constructive environment in support of flight training devices for several fixed wing fighter programs. The final product is utilized by experienced instructors to create realistic and high fidelity training scenarios to simulate real world combat scenarios in order to maintain mission readiness and train the next generation of fighter pilots.

Engineers on this team are responsible for all phases of the modeling lifecycle including derived requirements, architecture, design, implementation and test. This includes the tools and applications associated with the planning, operating, monitoring and controlling of a real time constructive forces simulation.

You would directly be involved in planning your own work as part of the agile methodology, with a focus on technical excellence and customer satisfaction.

This role may require to travel 25% of the time.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Assists with the documentation and maintenance of architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems
  • Develops and maintains code and integrates software components into a fully functional software system
  • Assists with test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met
  • Gathers information to support software project management
  • Documents deployed processes and tools and collect metrics
  • Modeling complex warfare interactions in a Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS) architecture.
  • Supports software research and development projects
  • Troubleshoots basic software issues
  • Works under minimal supervision
  • Contribute to the creation of new distributed components and interactions that align with the future system architecture
  • Software development tasks including detailed software design, coding, and unit/integration testing of customer desired features/user stories
  • Develop and sustain new and existing applications as well as troubleshoot and resolve various software issues

Security Clearance:

This position requires an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or other technical degree
  • Experience programming in C/C++
  • Development experience using the Visual Studio platform
  • Experience in Object Oriented Design and Programming

Preferred Qualifications Basic Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience in the development and design of aircraft simulation and/or training devices
  • Experience using MATLAB for data analysis and plotting.
  • Experience with Fortran or similar programming language
  • Experience with Radio Frequency systems
  • Experience in the design and development of EO/IR sensor systems

Education/experience
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Relocation:

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
 

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. (St. Louis, MO).
