The Boeing Company is seeking a Senior Staff Analyst (level 4) – Engineering Cost Account Analyst (CAA) to join our Defense, Space and Security team in Mesa, AZ. This individual will provide financial and scheduling support to the Engineering team with limited supervision. We encourage anyone with a strong background in Accounting or Finance to apply!

Position Responsibilities:

  • This position is supporting the Apache program capability as a Cost Account Analyst (CAA) for Attack Engineering
  • Responsibility for managing the scope, budget, schedule, resource control, performance, and analysis of the control accounts of a major engineering team
  • Collaborates with and utilizes inputs from multiple business functions (i.e. Engineering Team Leads, Program Management, Contracts, Estimating, Integrated Scheduling, Finance, etc.) to develop and maintain integrated project schedules and budgets.
  • Analyzes, initiates, and communicates changes to project baseline plans for schedule and cost.
  • Provides inputs to Finance in development of program cost structure and set up of control account work statements
  • Plans and directs the effort, participates in determinations of budget and manpower requirements.
  • Tracks and reports progress of individual work packages within control account scope using Earned Value Management (EVM) system tools.
  • Understands, prepares, and submits causes of variances to plan via Variance Analysis Report (VAR) and provides associated corrective action/recover plans, as needed.
  • Assesses risks/opportunities, performs cost trend analysis, and develops Estimate to Complete (ETC) in order to provide control account Estimate at Complete (EAC) updates on a recurring basis.
  • Gathers data from multiple sources to create reports (e.g., program reviews, audit responses, budget and capital planning, cost/schedule (EVM) performance reviews, EAC reviews, executive level briefings, etc.).
  • Provides project status and information for internal and external EVM oversight and participates in EVM surveillance audits, as directed.
  • Conducts meetings and reviews to ensure all project stakeholders have visibility of all pertinent project information.
  • Collaborates with organizational leaders in the development and implementation of plans and objectives (e.g., staffing forecasts, long-range strategies, organizational goals, objectives and initiatives)

This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite in Mesa, AZ.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 1+ year of experience in Earned Value Management System (EVMS)
  • 5+ years of experience in Excel (i.e. formulas, pivot tables, linking worksheets)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • Experience with Defense program Financial Controls or Cost Accounting
  • Experience conducting earned value within the CSPR (Cost Schedule Performance Reporting) tool
  • Experience with COGNOS
  • Experience with developing and maintaining integrated project schedules
  • Earned Value Management (EVM) silver medallion or higher

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+8 years' related work experience, 14 years' related work experience, etc.).

Relocation:

Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
