Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS), MQ-25 Electrical Team has an immediate need for an Electronic and Electrical Engineer – Electrical Systems Designer (Level 3), in St. Louis, MO.  The selected candidate will participate in requirement development (ICD, Procurement Spec) for aircraft Systems design. 

They will develop and maintain system schematics and cable/wire harness detail designs using Mentor Graphics or other design tools which meet these requirements and provide product definition to several Integrated Product Teams, various engineering functions, production operations, suppliers and external customers throughout the product lifecycle.  The candidate will serve as a subject matter expert for the development, maintenance and release of electrical System Schematics and Build to Prints(BTP) using Team Center, and utilize this tool as a master database and configuration control method.

Additional Duties:

  • Candidate will develop, maintain and release electrical drawings, systems designs or engineering documentation/data by applying company, industry and government standards. 

  • Candidate must be able to interpret and develop design requirements based on technical data.  Select components, prepare design layouts, modify existing designs and integrate system elements, to satisfy customer and productivity requirements. 

  • Candidate must be able to validate Engineering system design and functionality.  Ensure compliance with requirements, standards, and applicable regulatory authority and maintain the integrity of the product. 

  • Candidate will coordinate activities and products with internal partners and external suppliers.

  • The candidate must be proficient in Mentor Capital, WIRS, CEEDS other similar design tools used in electrical wiring product definition. 

  • Must be a highly motivated, self-starting individual with strong interpersonal skills.  Candidate must possess the ability to perform within a variety of different stages of product development. 

  • This position requires written communication skills, oral and listening skill, presentation skills and the ability to work well with a variety of customer, supplier and internal team members. 

  • This position will require occasional travel to support product build, delivery and support.

This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at the listed location.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Works with customers to develop and document complex electronic and electrical system requirements.

  • Analyzes and translates requirements into system, hardware and software designs and interface specifications.

  • Tests and validates to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements. Monitors supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements.

  • Solves problems concerning and provides other support of fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle.

  • Researches specific technology advances for potential application to company business needs.

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Ability to obtain a security clearance.

  • The candidate must have at least 5 or more years of relevant aircraft electrical systems design experience

  • The candidate must be proficient in design of electrical wire harness using an electrical design tool such as (Mentor Capital, CEEDS or Wires).

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • The candidate should be experienced in designing System Wiring Diagrams, Basic schematics, Wire harnesses.

  • The candidate should have experience using product data management tools. Teamcenter experience preferred.

  • The candidate should have supplier coordination experience and shop support.

  • The candidate should be a highly motivated, self-starting individual with strong interpersonal skills.

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation.
