Boeing Defense, Space and Security is seeking an Associate Systems Engineer in the Puget Sound area to support multiple programs.  The position provides an opportunity work with an experienced, interdisciplinary team to develop unique systems to meet challenging requirements on dynamic development programs. 

We work with proprietary customers in the development of the next-generation technologies in space.  We are involved in rapid prototyping to demonstrate a host of mission-focused technologies for a variety of customers.  Our group works all facets of engineering from technology investment, concept development, proposal writing, requirements and design, build, integration, test, and demonstration of products in their relevant environments.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Support stakeholder needs through analysis, technical performance measures (TPM) definition, requirements analysis, and allocation & definition for subcontractors

  • Work within a Model Based System Engineering environment using Cameo as the tool

  • Work within an agile development environment using JIRA and Confluence as project management tools

  • Work closely with other engineering disciplines in an integrated team environment to develop system architecture in compliance with interface definitions and system/subsystem requirements

  • Analyze, verify, and validate performance of hardware and software components in a space system

  • Develop use cases and sequence diagrams

  • Develop and maintain requirements

  • Develop and maintain Interface Control Documents (ICDs) for complex space and ground architectures

  • Develop requirements verification plan, including coordination of required tests for space systems

  • Support planning for and execution of subsystem and vehicle-level integration and test activities

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship as a condition of employment. An interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret/SCI Clearance Post-Start is required.

Special Program Access or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate degree in Engineering, Physics, or related technical course of study

  • 2+ years of experience in the design, assembly, integration, or test of satellite systems

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 2+ years of Systems Engineering on aerospace platforms or similar highly regulated products.

  • Experience with requirements development, verification, validation, ICDs, risk, issues and opportunities management and trade studies.

  • Experience utilizing Model Based Engineering (MBE or MBSE) tools.

  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance is highly preferred (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active).

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
