The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) team is seeking a Senior Patriot Advanced Capability Test Equipment Engineer located in Huntsville, AL. The ideal candidate will lead problem solving activities related to PAC3 subsystem test stations in the Gimbal, Power Assembly, IFP or DP areas and review of RF (Radio Frequency) data. The Boeing PAC3 (Patriot Advanced Capability 3) Program builds and tests the Seeker hardware for the Patriot Missile System. Come join the team responsible for the hands-on troubleshooting and repair of the test equipment that tests the Seeker and all its subsystem electrical components.

Position Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop and document standardized test methods and processes to ensure repeatability and productivity
  • Lead the development of test procedures and applies lessons learned to the improvement of test procedures
  • Design calibration system/test fixtures
  • Develop data processing tools and algorithms
  • Generate calibration procedures and software
  • Guide others in the design of test hardware, software and systems to achieve test requirements
  • Oversee debriefing of the test team
  • Lead the analysis, processing and formatting of data to customer requirements
  • Approve test data prior to delivery to customer
  • Formulate expectations for test data based on historical data
  • Perform functions as required to ensure calibration system readiness and data validity
  • Train others and works under minimal direction

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship as a condition of employment.  An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
  • 3+ years of experience testing and troubleshooting electronics and electrical systems
  • 3+ years of experience in electronics and design

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of experience with Support Equipment/Test Equipment Design
  • Knowledge of selected programming languages (e.g. LabVIEW, C, Fortran, C++)
  • Experience in optical or electromagnetic (RF - radio frequency) sensing systems such as Radars, GPS, or Electromagnetic sensors

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
