Boeing is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Vertical Lift Software Technical Analyst to join our Vertical Lift Software Development Team in Ridley Park, PA. This team develops software solutions for multiple Boeing programs, including the V-22, H-47, FLRAA, as well as Enterprise programs. You will work as a member of a growing team to implement and document software designs, analyze data, and generate metrics. Languages may include Ada, C, C++, C#, Python, and Java. Operating systems include Windows and Linux. Additional tools Microsoft Office and the Atlassian suite of software development tools. Technical writing and organizational skills are highly valued.

Position Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting quality products, have strong communication skills, and be capable of working in a multi-tasking environment. Example tasks may include supporting the integration of software components and hardware-software integration by assisting in the execution of basic test procedures. The candidate may use software tools to generate basic software products (e.g., software builds, requirement specifications, design documents). The candidate may develop, document and check basic software code using software development environment tools and programming languages.  The successful candidate may assist in the execution of tests and record results; gather and perform basic analysis of data to assess software performance/function. The candidate may collect and input process data to support basic software metrics. The candidate may support development and release of technical documentation. This position works under close supervision.

Telecommuting 

This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements:

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance, for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.  An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance, for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.

  • Basic knowledge of programming best practices, and entry-level programming experience

  • Technical education from an accredited course of study in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, and computer science, or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • The ability to learn new tools, follow detailed processes and instructions, and document and communicate results in both written and verbal formats.

  • The ability to follow instructions/procedures to execute detailed, repeatable test procedures, which test software functionality.

  • The ability to write technical documentation when provided with clear guidance.

  • The ability to use Microsoft Office products, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • A detail-oriented and organized approach to conducting one’s work.

  • A willingness to adapt to, as well as to contribute ideas to, benefit overall team.

  • General understanding of Software Development

  • Agile experience

  • Familiarity with development and tracing requirements

  • Experience developing software or requirements within a Change Management (CM) controlled environment.

  • Ada, Java, C, C++, C#, SQL, LabView, DOORS, Python, Atlassian experience  

Typical Education/Experience: 

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
