The Boeing Company is looking for a Senior Boeing AvionX Flight Management Systems Engineer based out of Long Beach, California. This position will be responsible for conducting datalink testing within a laboratory environment as well as between the laboratory and commercial aircraft environment. Position Responsibilities: Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify complex lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions Evaluates customer/operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces Performs various analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture Performs analyses for safety, testability, human systems integration, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success Develops, maintains and identifies improvements for the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes Resolves cross-functional technical issues Works closely with the software development organization
This position allows some telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at the listed location option. This position will require 10% travel. This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry 2+ years of experience with commercial aircraft datalink applications, such as ADS-C, ATS, AOC, and ACARS Experience developing test automation with python
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Typical Education/Experience: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience).
