Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) in Everett, WA is seeking Mid-Level Electrical Systems Design & Analysis Engineers to join the Landing Gear and Hydraulic Electrical/Electronic Control & Indication Systems Team in defining and integrating airplane systems across our commercial fleet. All projects within our team focus on and are the center of the translation of high-level requirements to specify electrical indication and control architectures, operational specifications, physical integration of components and system integration into our complex airplanes.

This position will be assigned to work with brake control system, antiskid / autobrake, tire pressure indication, brake temperature monitoring, landing gear/door actuation electrical control and indication, landing gear steering electrical control and indication, and/or hydraulic electrical components. This position allows hybrid work schedule.

Here you will work with a global supplier base to implement system hardware and software. Using the requested skills, the Electrical Systems and Design Analyst designs will utilize laboratory and airplane testing to create and maintain aircraft systems from initial concept through certification, delivery, and through their production life.
 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Investigate emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements.
  • Lead development of high-level and detailed designs consistent with requirements and specifications.
  • Lead reviews of testing and analysis activity to assure compliance to requirements.
  • Identify, tracks and statuses technical performance measures to measure progress and ensure compliance with requirements.
  • Lead activities in support of Supplier Management with make/buy recommendations and other technical services.
  • Coordinate engineering support throughout the lifecycle of the product.
  • Plan research projects to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements.
  • Perform troubleshooting techniques to determine root cause and provided corrective action plans for failure resolutions.
  • Work under minimal direction.

The selected candidate will be required to perform work onsite in Everett, WA, the position allows a hybrid schedule.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):  

  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
  • 5+ years of engineering experience related to the following: electrical/electronic system indication and controls, electromechanical systems, and systems modeling.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):  

  • Experience with electrical/electronic system design and circuit analysis
  • Experience with system safety assessment (FMEA, FHA, FTA)
  • Familiarity with engineering processes and methods
  • Experience in hardware and software design/integration
  • Ability to work both independently and with a cross-functional team
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Knowledge of FAA / EASA certification
  • Experience with model based development tools & programming languages (CATIA, ENOVIA, Matlab, Simulink, Spice, C, C++, Python, etc)
  • Experience with motors, sensors, solenoids, switches, communication protocol, power, and other electromechanical systems or electronic systems.

Typical Education/Experience: 
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

In locations where SPEEA representation applies, this position will be covered by the terms of the collective bargaining agreement. Applicable and appropriate educational/certification credentials from an accredited institution and/or equivalent experience is required.
