The Boeing Company is seeking a Senior Safety Specialist to join our Boeing Global Services Infrastructure Support Services (ISS) Program in either Springfield, VA or Chantilly, VA.

This is a critical hire that requires collaborate with both Program Leadership and the US Government customer at classified sites. The ideal candidate will be able to work both vertically and horizontally throughout the organization. Leading a very hardworking team of EHS professionals, and working to maintain collaborator support. The candidate will lead critical environmental regulatory compliance programs and Safety Programs to meet company committed goals.

Position Responsibilities:

• Acting as team lead will integrate employee activities across multiple locations and environment, occupational, health and safety fields

• Develop strategies and advise the integration of Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) programs to support multiple sites, business unit programs or the enterprise

• Implement and improve management systems

• Develop protocols and lead reviews of internal processes and practices

• Review and approve sophisticated regulatory reports, permit applications, proposals and contracts and EHS risk analyses

• Coordinate processes for program reviews, incidents investigations and corrective actions

• Leads independent reviews of EHS programs to identify improvement opportunities

This position is expected to be primarily onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• 10+ years of experience implementing or managing an environmental, health and safety management system

• 3+ years of experience in leading informal and/or formal teams

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Bachelors degree or equivalent work or military experience

• Certified Industrial Hygienist

• Associate Safety Professional or Certified Safety Professional certification from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals

• Direct customer and regulatory agency interface

Typical Education/Experience: 

Typically 13 or more years’ related work experience or relevant military experience. Advanced degree (e.g. Bachelor, Master, etc.) preferred, but not required.
