The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) team is seeking a Direct Attack Weapons Proposal Technical Lead located in Saint Charles, MO.

The selected candidate will be responsible for applying an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify complex lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions. Evaluates customer/operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces. Performs various analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture. Performs analyses for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success. Develops, maintains and identifies improvements for the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes. Resolves cross-functional technical issues.

This position requires a self-starter who can work independently to resolve issues and see projects through to completion. This person will lead the technical effort for current and future proposals as described in the Position Responsibilities below.

Position Responsibilities Include:

  • Leads the technical effort for current and future proposals.

  • Applies the Systems Engineering approach to the proposal process.

  • Ensures new program requirements are clearly established and communicated to the technical team.

  • Coordinates interfaces between proposal team members.

  • Validates the proposal content to ensure it meets customer expectations.

  • Includes being the book boss for the technical content of proposals.

  • Ensures Technical content is timely, coordinated and accurate.

  • Migrates towards consistency of approach across multiple programs.

This position allows some telecommuting.  The selected candidate will be required to perform most work onsite at the listed location.

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship as a condition of employment. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5 or more years of experience in Systems Engineering

  • Experience in Proposal Plan of Action (PPOA) Process

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
