Boeing Talent Acquisition is currently looking for a Principal Cloud Architect for their cloud modernization and development efforts to join their team in Denver, CO. This position will focus on supporting their Digital Aviation Solutions (DAS) organization in Boeing Global Services. 

As a Principal Cloud Architect, you'll be helping our organization transform as we build cloud-native applications supporting customer needs from across aerospace, as well as migrating existing applications to public cloud environments - bringing new value to existing customers. You will work closely with internal scrum teams to assess application requirements, implement DevSecOps principles, and provide architecture guidance based on the most appropriate cloud platform and cloud-native services. You will ensure application requirements are met, and security & quality are never compromised, while your cloud designs are cost-conscious. As a go-to resource for cloud expertise within the organization, you will be sharing your knowledge with stakeholders across the organization, leading the way and enabling the broader team to operate with velocity.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Translate business requirements and design creative solutions in multi-cloud, multi-region, highly available environments
  • Maintain a strong security posture in infrastructure and application deployments and development environments
  • Automate the deployment of cloud infrastructure in CI/CD pipelines in a “one-click deploy” method and leverage cloud-native services to support application deployment & development
  • Perform cost and operational optimization analysis on both existing infrastructure and new deployments
  • Direct 3 tier monitoring implementation (infrastructure, application, and synthetic monitoring)
  • Support team investigation and resolution of incidents related to cloud hosted solutions
  • Mentor Architects across different teams about cloud best practices, including training and demos and educate new-to-cloud Architects and architects
  • Stay current on new cloud technologies and offerings and determine how to integrate into existing architectures
  • Define and drive migration patterns, data migration strategies, to support cloud migration activities.

This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate may be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering, with a specialty in Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Microsoft Azure
  • Possess strong experience in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and CI/CD environments.
  • 3+ years of experience with cloud environments including security resources
  • Possess a solid understanding of container orchestration and microservices (Docker, ECS, Lambda)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • Holding active AWS or Azure Professional certification
  • Be a clear and confident communicator to technical and non-technical audiences at all levels of the organization

Typical Education/Experience: 

  • Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience, 18 years' related work experience, etc.)

Relocation: This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only.  Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Salary Range: $105,000 – $196,000
