The Boeing Global Services is currently looking for a Wheel and Brake Assembler (level B) to join our Product Repair Station in St. Charles, Illinois. This role will focus on repairs and overhauls of wheel and brake assemblies for BA/GA, commercial and military aircraft.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location: St. Charles, Illinois.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Receives and prioritizes orders; Performs initial inspections on units received for repair.

  • Use a computer in a production environment.

  • Look up/read/comprehend technical work instructions, drawings and/or specifications.

  • Operates various hand and power tools, mechanical and testing equipment throughout repair process.

  • Perform teardown of assemblies to the appropriate level dependent on repair scope.

  • Cleaning/media blasting of sub-assemblies and associated parts.

  • Applying/using chemical solvents, sealants, coatings, primers, adhesives, paints and special finishes.

  • Ensure that parts issued are correct for the specific assembly and are free of visible defects.

  • Assembles fabricated parts to relatively small or light subassemblies and complete units.

  • Tests and calibrates parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications of OEM or aircraft manual.

  • Inspect work for quality and check for FOD (Foreign Object Debris)

  • Ability to gather, retain, and recall a variety of facts and data in written and/or verbal form for the achievement of work tasks and duties

  • Assists other technicians as needed.

  • Completes special projects and other duties as assigned.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 1+ year of previous mechanical experience

  • Have the ability to use manual fine motor skills or similar hands-on work

  • Ability to use/operate precision measuring tools

  • Must be able to lift 35 lbs. regularly

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Airframe License or Degree/Certificate in Aviation Maintenance

  • Microsoft Office Suite experience

  • SAP experience

Typical Education/ Experience:

  • Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 1 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate).

Relocation:

This position does not offer relocation. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
