The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to lead its Autonomy and Manned-Unmanned Teaming (MUM-T) Systems Engineering, Integration and Test (SEIT) team. Responsibilities include leading the MUM-T SEIT Team to develop, integrate and coordinate common CONOPS, use cases, requirements and architecture for MUM-T and Autonomy solutions across the BDS portfolio of products and services.  

This unique opportunity includes significant coordination and integration with multiple organizations, including BDS Platform Programs, Phantom Works, Strategy, Business Development and Division/Enterprise core functional teams. The successful candidate will be a strong leader who is passionate about strategy, consensus building, systems thinking and continuous improvement. They should be experienced in the product development lifecycle, systems engineering practices, and autonomy.

Position Responsibilities: 

  • Lead the development, integration and coordination of a common system-level technical approach for MUM-T

  • Provide technical leadership and coordination across divisions, programs, organizations and functional teams

  • Develop & maintain an integrated MUM-T technical roadmap

  • Establish common definitions & taxonomy for MUM-T

  • Define, integrate and document a common set of CONOPS and use cases

  • Decompose use cases into requirements, functional/logical architecture, and interface definition

  • Develop experimentation and V&V plans to validate needed MUM-T technologies, prototype solutions and demonstrate capabilities

This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

  • 10+ years of engineering related experience

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience with Systems Engineering Integration and Test of platform systems

  • Lifecycle experience on a vehicle development program

  • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering tools and processes

Typical Education:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard
