The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) team is seeking an Experienced F-15 Avionics Engineer (Level 3) located in Berkeley, Missouri. The selected candidate will be responsible for coordinating with the USAF customer to define requirements and project goals; and for technical management and design approval with the supplier designing modifications to the AAI/IFF system.

Position Responsibilities Include:

  • Developing and documenting moderately complex electronic and electrical system requirements

  • Designing hardware, software and interface specifications

  • Testing and validating to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements

  • Assisting in monitoring supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements

  • Solving problems concerning fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle

  • Researching specific technology advances for potential application to company business needs

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Export Control

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim U.S. Secret Clearance Pre-Start and final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

  • Experience working with Electrical/Electronic Hardware Design

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience with requirements, designs, and design analysis

  • Thorough knowledge and proficiency in all technical areas in accordance with Defense Industry project management standards

  • Experience working with Radio Frequency (RF) systems

  • Experience interfacing and presenting data to upper level management, Program Managers, and Military customers

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to listen, assimilate, evaluate and summarize. Sound ability to communicate with partners and customer at all levels

  • Knowledge and experience with the overall system engineering life-cycle development cycle from proposal development and requirements definition through design, implementation, test, verification and production

  • Experience with System Integration and Test, Experience working DoD Programs Experience with DOORS and/or ClearQuest

  • Ability to travel for short durations (less than 10%)

  • Experience working with Microsoft Office

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
