At Boeing, we innovate and collaborate to make the world a better place. From the seabed to outer space, you can contribute to work that matters with a company where diversity, equity and inclusion are shared values. We’re committed to fostering an environment for every teammate that’s welcoming, respectful and inclusive, with great opportunity for professional growth. Find your future with us.

Boeing Global Services is on an exciting new venture into Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Product Line Engineering (PLE) based product development. Boeing Global Services is responsible for the design, development, integration and delivery of training simulation devices for a wide variety of military and commercial derivative aircraft - everything from the new T-7A Red Hawk and MH-139 Grey Wolf to the F-15 Eagle, P-8 Poseidon and AH-64 Apache. Training Systems engineers work with cutting edge tools and technologies in the areas of Agile, DevSecOps, Containers and Extended Reality (XR). Develop your technical acumen as well as your leadership skills at a company with huge potential for long-term career growth.  At Boeing we value your curiosity, your determination, and your imagination. We are all innovators on a mission to connect, protect, explore and inspire.

We are seeking a Mid-Level Systems Engineer to help guide our MBSE architecture development on a variety of aircrew and maintenance training simulator programs in Berkeley, MO, working a hybrid schedule. This position offers an opportunity to be on the forefront of our MBSE and PLE initiatives within Boeing Global Services. The successful candidate will work directly with system architects and engineers to develop and implement best practices that streamline MBSE and PLE through identification and implementation of automation techniques. The MBSE Architect will coordinate with multi-functional engineering teams on our programs to introduce MBSE using a crawl-walk-run approach while also collaborating with more advance teams developing system architectures to meet program commitments, including support of model-based design reviews. The selected individual will work in a fast paced, innovative environment where excellent technical, organizational, leadership, written and verbal communications skills are essential. Come help define the future!

Position Responsibilities:

  • Working with multi-functional engineering teams to develop digital system models that can be replicated to support development of complex aircrew and maintenance training systems
  • Facilitating Systems Engineering efforts using model-based methods including development of key artifacts such as requirements decomposition, system architecture, specifications, interfaces, risk management and overall integration and test.
  • Facilitating multi-functional engineering teams in developing system architectures to meet program commitments, including support of model-based design reviews
  • Providing systems engineering and MBSE thought leadership and expertise to the development and evaluation of complex training systems through parametric analyses and design trades.
  • Developing model profiles, tool plug-ins, architecture frameworks, and model queries in the MBSE tools that capture and analyze models of the systems being developed throughout their lifecycle from concept definition through fielding and support
  • Participating in the development of trade studies to support the selection of preferred design solutions and course of action alternatives in project development/product delivery.
  • Supporting MBSE program proposal efforts
  • Mentoring and advising less experienced Systems Engineers in SysML and MBSE
  • Advocating for Training Systems needs in collaborative MBSE communities across divisions with a focus on establishing common MBSE approaches

This is a hybrid position that allows some telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.
