Phantom Works is seeking a Lead Fuel Systems Design Engineer in St. Louis, MO.  This is your opportunity to join the Boeing Phantom Works Advanced Weapons development team working the next generation of air-launched weapons. You will part of an agile team developing the requirements and subsystems architecture for new, high-speed weapon systems utilizing Digital Engineering and Model Based Engineering practices.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.


Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead the fuel system requirements development.

  • Establish a subsystem architecture and create a preliminary design for the fuel subsystem including the fuel tank, pumps, control systems, and system monitoring.

  • Coordinate with propulsion subsystem suppliers and system component suppliers on requirements and selection of appropriate hardware.

  • Develop technical documents and specifications for fluid/mechanical components and systems.

  • Lead fluid system performance analysis using model based engineering tools.

  • Lead the development of subsystem customer deliverables and support major program milestone reviews.

  • Assists in supporting proposal preparation and new business development efforts.

This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active). Clearance Level & last investigation date must be shown on resume.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelors degree or higher in engineering or science-related field.

  • Experience with the design, analysis, modeling and simulation of aircraft fuel subsystems design and analysis.

  • Experience with Model Based Engineering tools such as Unigraphics (NX).

  • Strong oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with internal and external customers and suppliers as well as team members from multiple disciplines.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience in air-launched weapons system development.

  • Experience working to MIL-STD requirements.

  • Experience with Simcenter AMESim, Matlab/Simulink, and Product Data Management tools such as Teamcenter.

  • Experience with subsystem requirements development and the creation of Interface Control Documents (ICDs)

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
