Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has a great opportunity for a Mid-Level Industrial Engineer to join the VC-25B Air Force One team in San Antonio, TX.

In this role you will be overseeing and assisting in the development of shop floor operating schedules, capacity planning, and developing spreadsheets to analyze data (e.g., statistics and operations research).  Providing summary analysis and metrics for consultation to internal customers at various levels.  You will perform schedule analysis using Aurora for constraint based scheduling to determine precedence based on Control Points that align to the Integrated Product Team (IPT) structure (e.g., work break-down structure, precedence network, and Integrated Master Schedule) that will result in a shop schedule for jobs, resource allocation, and critical path sequence.

You will use your skills to lead the research, design, development, improvement and implementation of processes to enhance schedule performance, lower cost, and improve quality, through the application of Lean and other Industrial Engineering concepts.  You will also lead the use of engineering methods to support the development of optimal process designs and efficient utilization of resources (e.g., facilities, personnel, materials, and equipment) in the creation and validation of products.

Position Responsibilities:

• Applies advanced Industrial Engineering concepts, techniques, analysis and decision tools to promote and implement changes in manufacturing, engineering and service operations. 

• Independently develops models, data bases and spreadsheets to analyze data (e.g., statistics, operations research, engineering economics), and provides summary analysis and metrics for consultation to customers (e.g., management, departments, suppliers).

• Applies advanced industrial engineering techniques and concepts to product and process design teams throughout all phases of product lifecycle, resulting in a robust product design and work statement that meets program requirements. 

• Researches, designs, develops, improves, and implements processes to enhance schedule performance, lower cost, and improve quality, through the application of advanced Lean and other Industrial Engineering concepts for large scale systems integration and asset utilization. 

• Independently manages, defines, negotiates, and controls the scope, cost, and timing of projects, and performs risk analysis using project management tools (e.g., work break-down structure, precedence network, resource allocation).

• Ensures project is completed within budget.

• Utilizes advanced engineering methods (e.g., mathematical models, simulation, statistics) to develop optimal process designs and efficient utilization of resources (e.g., facilities, personnel, materials, equipment) in the creation and validation of products. 

• Analyzes and designs value stream, including capability, capacity (e.g., make/buy, supplier selection, risk analysis, supplier performance), throughput, work flow and logistics (e.g., critical path, lead-time, transportation, factory layout).

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

This position requires ability to obtain program access, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship only.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience): 

• Bachelors degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, chemistry, or similar technical degree, including technology degrees.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Experience with databases / SQL

• 3 years of industrial engineering experience

• 1 year of experience with Aurora constraint based scheduling

• Aircraft / Aerospace and manufacturing industry experience

Typical Education/Experience:

Typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. Boeing Support Systems (BSS) relocation plan is available for internal candidates based on candidate eligibility.
