The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization is seeking an Associate Product Repair / Mod Technician to join the International Space Station (ISS) team in Kennedy Space Center, FL.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Disassembles systems components to support the correction of failures or implement changes.
  • Performs routine troubleshooting of pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems to isolate mechanical or electrical faults and repair faulty components.
  • Performs validation/verification testing of systems and components. Inspects component before installation or usage to verify cleanliness and serviceability of components.
  • Fabricates and modifies aerospace products according to specifications.
  • Performs tasks associated with the safe handling of an aerospace vehicle (e.g. jacking, towing, system operations).
  • Works under general supervision.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

This position requires the ability to obtain access to a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facility.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Confidential Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience):

  • 1 or more years of experience in repair, maintenance, and retrofit processes and procedures.
  • Proficient in the use and operation of dimensional measurements equipment.
  • The ability (1+ years’ experience) to read and understand basic engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Must be able to frequently lift, push, and pull up to 35 pounds frequently within an 8 hour shift
  • Basic computer skills required including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills / Experience):

  • 1 or more years of experience in electro-mechanical assembly and functions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Associates degree in Electronics/ electrical technician, science or general technical field

Relocation:

This position is based in Kennedy Space Center, FL and does not offer relocation assistance. This is not a negotiable benefit. Applicants must reside in the area or be willing to relocate at their own expense.

Typical Education / Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 1 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate).

Travel:

This position may require travel up to 10% of the time.
