Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) has an opportunity for a Mid-Level Component Failure Analyst to join our Equipment Quality Analysis (EQA) team located in Seattle, WA.

The EQA Team performs failure analysis of airplane mechanical and electrical components and systems. An ideal candidate will be skilled in evaluating systems-related problems, working within a testing environment, have strong technical report writing skills, and experience engaging with cross-functional groups.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Perform failure analysis of aircraft mechanical components and dimensional inspections for systems-related problems to determine root cause and coordinate corrective action.

  • Experience in other technical disciplines is helpful.

  • Employ troubleshooting skills, analytical reasoning, and technical report writing ability.

  • Maintain a working knowledge of airplane components, related systems and supporting technical documentation.

  • Develop test methods to replicate failure modes.

  • Chair analysis teams comprised of the following representatives: Quality, Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, Suppliers, Customer Airlines and government agencies.

  • Prepare formal technical reports of investigations and results for internal and/or external customers including legal documentation for dissemination to government agencies.

  • Willing and able to travel 10% of the time

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Associate's Degree or higher

  • 3+ years of experience maintaining mechanical and electrical components or systems

  • 1+ years of experience writing technical reports

  • Must be able to travel 10% of the time

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of excellent customer interface skills leading investigations and technical examinations that can last 1-3 days

  • Experience collaborating with other technical testing labs

  • Experience working with customers in production, engineering departments, airline industry and governmental agencies

  • Experience with mechanical/systems testing

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor+1 years' related work experience, 5 years' related work experience, etc.).
