The Space Electronics Capability at The Boeing Company's Satellite Development Center in El Segundo, California is seeking a versatile and innovative Senior Multi – Platform Special Test Equipment Development Manager (Level L) to join the Space and Launch multidisciplinary team and whose area of expertise is in development of special test equipment design and test systems for RF, Power units.

This position will provide critical leadership and technical support to the highly skilled engineering staff and interacting with users of our test systems during different phases of product life cycle.

Position Responsibilities: 

  • Manage Engineering team responsible for development of test systems for various electronic units. Broad team scope covering RF, Power, Digital and hybrid assemblies at module, board, slice, unit and sub-system level testing

  • Interface with program and hardware teams to understand project scope, provide estimates and develop test plans

  • Lead & oversee the execution RF and Power STE pipeline through life cycle of STE design

  • Provides Bid and Proposal for STE Development including test software.

  • Acquires resources, provides management of STE engineers and leads process improvements

  • Develops and carries out integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures and provides input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals, objectives

  • Implements structured approach to management of significant workload focused on standardization across all product types (Schedules. Engineering Artifacts, Review content, etc)

  • Develops and maintains relationships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports

  • Provides oversight and approval of test approaches, products and processes

  • Manages, develops and motivates employees

  • Drives employee performance development, hiring, and staffing projections

  • Work closely with team members to develop skills and increase understanding of the development process

This position allows some telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to work at the El Segundo, CA location.

Security Clearance:

This position requires the ability to obtain U.S. Security Clearance post start, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.

An interim and/or final U.S. top secret clearance Post Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering field

  • Five (7) or more years' leading engineering teams

  • Five (5) or more years' experience working in development of test systems

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Electrical Engineering degree

  • ABET accreditation is preferred

  • Active U.S. Security Clearance (SSBI or TS/SCI)

  • Previous experience in the defense or aerospace industry

  • Previous experience developing and enforcing engineering processes

  • Previous RF and Power experience is plus
