The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) team is seeking a knowledgeable Mid-Level Equipment & Tool Engineer to join our team at the Kennedy Space Center, FL.  Join our Space & Launch (S&L) PE Capability Team supporting the definition, development and implementation of processes and tools for multiple S&L capabilities. The candidate will collaborate with peers across Space & Launch Production Engineering to implement equipment & tool engineering best practices across the programs.

Position Responsibilities Include:

  • Experience with equipment and tool engineering (E&TE) best practices, including applying Lean principles

  • Familiarity with applying design practices to improve E&TE processes

  • Lead and/or collaborate on cross-program initiatives involving safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other quality factors to ensure mission success

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of experience working with process management, LEAN, and Six Sigma disciplines

  • 5+ years of tool engineering experience

  • Excellent communication skills and experience briefing Boeing and customer management

  • Experience using IPDM/NX/CATIA and MESCi

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Relocation:

Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
