Boeing’s Laser & Electro-Optical Systems (LEOS) team harnesses more than 40 years of innovation and expertise to deliver cutting-edge, warfighter-tested high energy laser defense with precision and affordability.  Designed for both stand-alone use and mobile configuration, Boeing’s Directed Energy solutions provide scalable and efficient air defense against lower-tier threats in any environment.

The Laser and Electro-Optical Systems (LEOS) is seeking skilled and adaptable Associate Software Engineers to perform design, analysis and test of software solutions. The Engineers will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team supporting the development of both directed energy and electro-optical systems.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develops and maintains software architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for innovative systems.

  • Develops and maintains code and integrates software components into a fully functional software system.

  • Develops software verification plans, test procedures and test environments, performing the test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met.

This position allows telecommuting. (Hybrid) The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.  (Albuquerque, NM)

This position requires the ability to obtain U.S. Security Clearances, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.  An interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, computer science or other related technical field

  • At least 2 years’ of work experience or completed college level coursework with coding C or C++

  • 1+ years’ experience with software testing

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance

  • Experience with software design using model based techniques

  • Knowledge of Electro-Optical systems

  • Experience with embedded software using VxWorks or similar OS is strongly preferred

  • Experience with Graphical user interface development

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master).

In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. (Albuquerque, NM)
