The Boeing Global Services Team is looking for a Senior Network Engineer to join the team in Kent, WA. As a Senior Network Engineer, you will support the development, integration, verification, and test of the a number of Department of Defense programs.  Be a part of our passionate and highly-motivated team who are excited to be on the forefront of defense of our nation. You will split your responsibilities between directly assigned technical assignments and providing guidance and input to the work of junior team members.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Senior Network Engineer responsible for planning, deploying, integrating, and testing upgrades from a large network infrastructure to operational sites.

  • May be required to assist with integrating, sustaining, and operating the networks.

  • May be required to travel to remote locations to perform network installations and in accordance with Program configuration management processes, independently perform troubleshooting, and provide status updates to Program personnel.

  • Resolves cross functional technical networking issues; collaborate, and establish network automation discipline into all aspects of the program.

This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Technical Bachelor's, Master's or a PhD degree (A technical degree is defined as any four year degree, or greater, in a mathematic, scientific or information technology field of study).

  • DoD 8570 certification at IAT Level II or higher (Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA). 

  • 3+ years’ experience in architecture and requirements development for network-centric, software intensive DoD systems

  • 5+ years’ experience performing network or system administration duties

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Preferred technical skills include: Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic, and network analytic tools. 

  • SD-WAN, MPLS, and secure access service edge (SASE) architecture.

  • Network Management Systems (HP NMMI, HP Network Automation, CA Performance Center, CA Data Aggregator, CA Data Repository, CA NetFlow Analyzer) or NAS/SAN technologies.

  • Experience using protocol analyzers/sniffers (such as Wireshark).

  • Experience with authentication methods/capabilities including LDAP, RADIUS, TACACS+ as part of the AAA framework.

  • Understanding of industry and DOD standard security practices such as RMF and STIG compliance and system accreditation implementation efforts. Proven network traffic analysis, diagnostic and troubleshooting experience.

  • Knowledge of symmetric and asymmetric encryption in addition to TLS, IPSEC, VPN, etc.

  • Experience in Agile development methodologies is highly desirable.

  • Experience in the following areas is highly desired:  A solid understanding of the OSI Model, TCP/IP, BGP and OSPF routing.  Experience in UDP multicast, VLAN, virtual routing and forwarding (vrf), generic routing encapsulation tunnels, and TCP/IP network designs. Hands on experience with multi-vendor switching routing.  ­­Industry vendor certifications from Cisco (CCIE, CCNA, CCNP, CCSP) required, from Juniper (JNCIA, JNCIS, JNCIP, JNCIE) a plus. 

  • Experience planning and supporting automated deployment of network infrastructure is desired.

  • VMWare virtualization technologies knowledge a plus.  

  • AWS certified solutions architect, Google professional cloud architect, or Microsoft Azure administrator, a plus.

  • Must be an effective communicator with excellent writing and presentation skills using Microsoft PowerPoint and Visio drawing tools

  • Must be able to work collaboratively in a team environment with other highly motivated network engineers as well as independently at times on large field projects

  • Candidates with experience planning and supporting the deployment of network infrastructure are highly desired.

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
