Boeing Global Services is currently looking for an Experienced BGS System Engineer – CAM/Project Coordinator to join the team in Mesa, Arizona. The Systems Engineer will join the Boeing Global Services (BGS) Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test (SEIT) and will support Apache and Little Bird programs for the United States Government as well as International customers.

The Systems Engineer will review aircraft configuration changes to identify impacts to elements of product support.

During the acquire phase, the Systems Engineer will work with sustainment engineering teams to identify and estimate labor/material/travel resource requirements and support negotiations.  The Systems Engineer will serve as Control Account Manager (CAM) for sustainment engineering teams. The Systems Engineer will work with team leads and managers to ensure estimates, schedules, and Risks, Issues, and Opportunities (RIOs) are accurately accounted for in the proposal.

After contract award, the Systems Engineer will create cost and schedule baselines for the activities and then track performance to the plan through Earned Value Management (EVM) techniques including (but not limited to): Estimate at Complete (EAC) analysis, variance analyses, and monitoring spend on activities. The Systems Engineer will communicate with team leadership, finance, and program on performance to plan and RIOs.

The Systems Engineer will also support sustainment engineering staffing exercises through documenting, maintaining, and communicating staffing plans to leadership.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Identify impact of aircraft configuration changes on product support elements
  • Estimate, baseline, and monitor performance to EVM baseline for sustainment engineering functions
  • Communicate proposal estimate status and earned value management information to broad audiences including engineering management, sustainment engineering functions, program management, proposal management, finance, labor estimating, and contracts
  • Apply Program Management Best Practices (PMBP) in campaign and contract execution
  • Ensure customer commitments are understood, documented, communicated, and delivered on-time with first-time quality
  • Identify, record, track, and communicate RIOs
  • Work process improvement tasks
  • Conduct/support Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) activities
  • Maintain and communicate staffing requirements for sustainment engineering teams

This Hybrid position allows some telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options (Mesa, AZ).

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. secret clearance Post Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Fluent in the use of Microsoft (MS) Office Tools
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering or related field


 

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM)
  • Experience developing and executing to integrated plans and schedules
  • Experience with one of more elements of sustainment engineering
  • Experience with legacy and/or new production military aircraft such as AH-64, CH-47, V-22, MELB or AH-6i.
  • Experience with military aircraft sustainment products and services
  • Proven ability to collaborate across Boeing IPTs (production engineering, sustainment engineering, program management, and/or finance) and business units (BDS, BGS, BAO, etc.)
  • Experience providing functional estimates for campaigns
  • Experience supporting staffing exercises
  • Active Boeing EVM certification
  • EVM experience in DFAR programs
  • Active security clearance

Typical Education/ Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
