The Boeing Company is currently seeking an Associate Real-Time Software Engineer to develop, integrate, test, and deliver complex software solutions for the Cruise Missile Command Launch Systems Software team located in St. Charles, MO

The Command Launch System software is being modified to align with the expanding capabilities and functionality of the Harpoon missile.  The project has a broad and growing customer base of both international and domestic customers.  Engineers in this segment work in all phases of the software development lifecycle.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with a multi-discipline engineering team to create and maintain engagement logic and route planning algorithms

  • Opportunity to work directly with the operator interface to launch Harpoon missiles

  • Contribute in all phases of the software development lifecycle

  • Develop software on both Windows and Linux platforms, in both unclassified and classified environments

  • Gain knowledge in real-time operator-in-the-loop embedded systems, weapons systems, and weapon interfaces

  • Develop solutions using C++, Ada, and scripting languages

  • Expand experience with algorithms, human/machine interfaces, and launch protocols

  • Use an agile process following a set of standard engineering practices

  • Test your software and assist system level testing to verify correct software functionality

  • Analyze problem reports and troubleshooting software defects

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. (St. Charles, MO)

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.   An interim U.S. Secret Clearance Pre-Start and final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Required Qualifications: (Required Skills/ Experience)

  • Bachelor’s degree or greater in a technical field of study such as engineering, computer science, mathematics, or physics

  • At least 1-2 years of professional software engineering experience

Preferred Qualifications: (Desired Skills/Experience)

  • 1+ years of experience with C++, Java, Ada

  • 1+ years of experience with software development on Windows or Linux

  • 1+ years of experience with Visual Studio, Jira, and git

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master).

In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Travel:

Domestic and international travel to support customers may be required.

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.  Relocation opportunity to St. Charles, MO.
