The Boeing Company is seeking a Software Engineer (Level 3) to join the Airpower Teaming System (ATS) program in St. Louis, MO.  The Boeing Airpower Teaming System is a new uncrewed aircraft that will serve as a force multiplier.  It’s designed to work as a smart team with existing military aircraft to complement and extend airborne missions.  ?

This Software Engineer will support development and integration of new mission system software into the Boeing Airpower Teaming System (ATS). This will require working across multiple Boeing engineering disciplines as well as customer and vendor engineering counterparts to ensure requirements are defined, compatible, and working in time to support program test and demonstration milestones.

This position allows some telecommuting (approximately 50% of the time).  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in St. Louis regularly.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Creation and/or validation of mission subsystem software requirements.

  • Coordinate software interfaces to ensure compatibility with the ATS architecture.

  • Coordinate with subsystem suppliers to monitor status against the supplier statement of work.

  • Address subsystem problem as they arise and coordinate with technology domain experts and supplier as necessary.

  • Support planning and execution of software integration.

  • Act as software representative to the Validation and Verification Team coordinating the development and catalogue of verification artifacts.

  • Coordination and Configuration Management of Mission Systems documentation work products.

Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements:

This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active). A final U.S. secret clearance Pre Start is required. 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelors, Master's, or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited source of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry by June 2022.

  • Must having working experience using C++.

  • Must have understanding of real-time operating systems.

  • Must have working knowledge of modern DevSecOps Pipelines.

  • Must having working experience of containerization.

Desired Qualifications (Preferred Skills/Experience):

  • Previous aerospace industry experience.

  • Experience using analytical, collaboration, communication and organizational skills.

  • Experience with unit and regression testing.

  • Team player, able to work in a collaborative environment - previous design team or special project team participation is desired

  • Experience working with internal and external customers and suppliers.   

  • Strong knowledge of data structures, system design and algorithms.

  • Highly motivated self-starter, must work well in a team environment.

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Travel: - Position may require infrequent travel, less than 10%.
