This job requires the application of an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify complex lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions. You will evaluate customer/operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces. This engineering role will define concepts and systems engineering solutions to customer requirements to advanced communication, signal processing systems and other systems.  The successful candidate will need to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment, and be a self-starter with the ability to work both independently and as part of an Integrated Product Team (IPT). This position is located in Huntington Beach Ca or Herndon VA.  Working with the program team you will perform various analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture.  You will support analyses for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, system security, and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success.

Primary Responsibilities: 

• Requirements management, development, analyses, decomposition, allocation, testing, validation and verification as well as systems architecture, model based systems engineering, and CONOPS development. 
• Partner with subject matter experts and technology experts in understanding technology development and integration into current state and future goals for increased functionality, performance, testability, verification and validation
• Support the definition of functional architecture and modeling needs and coordinate efforts across teams to meet deliverables and program achievements
• Collaborate with customers and program management/leadership for systems engineering and integration and test team
• Participate in all aspects of systems engineering for current and future phases of program with design, qualification, and eventually production (womb to tomb).
• Follow and Implement best practices throughout all facts of systems engineering and integration and test understanding intent and need to ensure successful product development and production

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires an active Top Secret/SCI w/poly U.S. Security Clearance, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience): 

• 4+ years experience in Systems Engineering role
• Experience in Requirements Management including derivation / decomposition as well as traceability
• Knowledge of system architecture and modeling tools

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience): 

• Model Based Systems Engineering
• Jira and Confluence
• Agile development practices

Typical Education and Experience: 

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
