We are seeking an Emergent Logistics Operations Senior Manager (Level M) to join the BCA Transportation, Warehousing, & Logistics (TWL) Perform team in Seattle, WA.

This senior leader will manage emergent operations and shortage mitigation for Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA). This manager will influence and impact over $500M in annual transportation spending across all three Business Units. This is a vital role that will lead a team of highly skilled managers and analysts in handling around the clock, emergent, mission critical, inbound shipments for BCA production, Boeing Defense Space & Security, and Boeing Global Services (BGS).

This leader will be a detail and team oriented leader with extensive experience and education in logistics and transportation. They will understand transportation options via all modes and will have supported production in a fast-paced environment in the past. They use advanced problem-solving skills to address delayed shipments and carrier issues. They creatively apply all available tools to ensure business partners' and customers' needs are met.

This role manages three distinct teams with operations supporting Boeing production. Through this role’s leadership, the team will schedule emergent transportation while identifying and mitigating shortages before production impacts occur. Providing effective 24x7 support to BCA Production in the Emergent Operations, Partner Management (domestic and international teammates), and the Boeing Licensed Transportation Dispatch Team is required.

This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manages, develops and motivates managers and employees working 24x7 to support BCA Production in the Emergent Operations, Partner Management (domestic and international teammates), and the Boeing Licensed Transportation Dispatch Team.

  • Provides logistics leadership support to BGS Component Services Program.

  • Utilizes Boeing IT systems to identify and mitigate shortages prior to production impacts.

  • Partners with transportation carriers to provide emergent solutions that meet program needs based upon need date, quality, and cost.

  • Collaborates with BCA Programs to look ahead at program needs to ensure support from across TWL.

  • Interacts with senior leaders to convey status and participates in workshops and war rooms as needed for emergent operations.

  • Collaborates across TWL on transformative measures that improve quality, cost, and service.

  • Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures, and sets operational goals through the use of KPIs and other metrics.

  • Acquires resources for projects and processes and leads process improvement projects.

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Must be able to support 24/7 and work any days/hours as needed.

  • 5+ years leading teams in a formal leadership role.

  • Ability to travel occasionally as needed.

  • 5+ years in cross-functional leadership, collaborative problem solving, building lasting relationships, and high proficiency in written and verbal communication.

  • Experience leading teams to execute to safety, quality, delivery & cost commitments, and targets.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Master’s degree in a related field.

  • 5+ years of industry experience in freight logistics modes and service levels.

  • 5+ years supporting a manufacturing environment.

Summary pay range: $160,650 – $221,130
