Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking an Associate Technical Specialist - Customer Engineering to join teams in both Everett, WA and Renton, WA.


The Technical Specialist will partner with Engineers in producing customer specific requirements (such as airplane interior layout, exterior livery paint scheme, passenger seat selection, etc) for their new airplanes. Assignments may include some or all phases of the products’ lifecycle – from airplane definition to airplane delivery and through the closure of delivery commitments. These tasks include Customer Introduction; Change Processing; Configuration Control and Maintenance of Configuration Documents; Schedule Support; and airplane Delivery Support. If you have a passion for airplanes, this position will teach you about the airplane nose to tail.

This position is a hybrid position that allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at the listed locations.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Assisting Account Managers, Model Managers, Feature Managers and Customer Introduction Specialists in developing new airplane proposals and customer related design changes.
  • Supporting the analysis, creation, and management of configuration change proposals for completeness to meet all technical review requirements.
  • Coordinating with key technical and business stakeholders to address airline customer questions, airplane configuration strategy, and contractual considerations.
  • Utilizing Boeing proprietary systems and data to verify airplane technical configuration and resolve inter-organizational discrepancies.
  • Analyzing and managing the release and scheduling of technical information.
  • Improving and implementing the organization’s processes and presenting recommendations to resolve related complex process issues.
  • Works under general direction.

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.  

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

•            Associate degree or higher

•            Familiarity with configuration and change management

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

•            3+ years of aerospace or manufacturing experience

Typical Education/Experience: 
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor+1 years' related work experience, 5 years' related work experience, etc.).
